Why Solomons Gold
We handcraft our award-winning chocolate from bean to bar in small batches and without compromise.
Using the finest single origin cacao only from the pristine Solomon Islands, we create exceptional chocolate that is good for you and that is 100% free-from (Dairy free, Gluten free, Nut free, Soy free).
For over a decade, we've been working with our growers to ensure our premium quality cacao is produced sustainably, ethically and surpasses all fair-trade mandates.
As one of the world’s few vertically integrated chocolate companies, we have the advantage of personally selecting, grading and shipping our beans to our bespoke facility in NZ, giving us control over the complete growing and production process.
In our Mt Maunganui bespoke chocolate facility we use only traditional, artisan roasting and crafting techniques to transform our prized, organic cacao into an international award-winning range that is unlike any other.
Unlike bulk chocolate processing, our artisan roasting and crafting techniques ensure retention of flavonols (antioxidants) to offer a smooth, rich flavour with the added benefit of independent research1 to verify its high superfood antioxidant levels to benefit health and well-being.
The secret to exceptional chocolate is fine quality cacao and meticulous artisan processes – and that is why our chocolate is free of additives, preservatives, emulsifiers, colourings, artificial sweeteners and alkalising chemicals. We do not add soy lecithin, sunflower lecithin or vanilla flavouring. Our chocolate is also non-GMO and recognised as Vegan suitable and Kosher certified.
We work with the best cacao and our passion is to highlight the flavour of our prized beans and to showcase their unique and complex flavour profiles.
Our Solomon Island operations are managed by our Sydney, based parent company, C-Corp. Our founder, Clive Carroll regularly visits the Solomon Islands to oversee our grower network and ensure an entirely sustainable ‘best practice’ process is used.
